Sister Dixie Warren’s son died on Friday, December 29, 2017. I have included his obituary below:
Warren, Jack L., 58, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Baptist Health.
He was an employee of Cook Compression. He was devoted to his family, as a loving husband, father, and grandbo.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alexandra Paige Warren; and his grandparents, Russell and Dorothy McSeveney.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Cole Warren; Four daughters, Jacqueline Miles (Greg), Jennifer, Katherine, and Keri Warren; One son, Spencer; along with six grandchildren, Ethan, Bryan, Gabriella, Ricky, Ella and Aubrey; his mother, Dixie Warren; and a half-sister, Gwen Hodges.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Past Grand Patron, Guy Overbey died on Sunday. The following is his obituary. His wife, Sister Mary Lynn is ill and is not doing well. Please keep her health and her grief in your thoughts and prayers.
Mr. Guy Louard Overbey, age 95, of Greenville, died on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to the late Guy Kelley Overbey and Topsy Wyatt Overbey. He was a member of First Christian Church in Greenville, where he was a long-time deacon and elder. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Overbey served in the Pacific during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a Past Master of Pond River Masonic Lodge and a Past Worthy Grand Patron of the Kentucky Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Overbey was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deanna Overbey, and sister, Sara Aikins. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mary Lynn Dearing Overbey; son, Douglas Overby (Gail) of Florence, Alabama; daughter, Karen Gentry (Bill) of Lexington, Kentucky; granddaughter, Carol Overby Cummings (Mike) of Greenbrier, Tennessee; grandsons, Jay Gentry of Gainesville, Florida, and Ross Gentry of Asheville, North Carolina; great-granddaughter, Hannah Cummings of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and sister, Betty Forgy of Princeton, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Mr. Paul Moore officiating. Visitation will be after 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Richard F. Ballinger
64 of Louisville passed away Saturday July 30, 2016. He retired from Ford in 2002, and he was a member of Hurstbourne Christian Church, Suburban Masonic Lodge #740, Kosair Shrine, and he was a Past Grand Patron for the Eastern Star in Kentucky, and a member of Southern Star #154. He was preceded in death by his father Richard L. Ballinger. He is survived by his wife Debbie Ballinger, his mother LeRhea Ballinger, two sons; Mike Ballinger, Paul Ballinger (Jenny), his grandchildren; Paige, Kaleigh and Dylan Ballinger, one brother Tommy Ballinger (Terrie), and one sister Vickie Mullins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday August 2nd from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Masonic services will be held at 6:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Carl Adams Chapter No. 490 has suffered a huge loss, Sister Judy Miller has gone home to be with the Lord. The arrangements are as follows: July 6th visitation at Hall and Taylor from 4- 8pm with an Eastern Star service at 6pm. The funeral service is Thursday July, 7th, at Olive Branch Methodist Church at 2:00pm with the burial at Bagdad Cemetery.

William Usher “Bill” Cates, Age 90, of Port Charlotte FL formerly of Mayfield passed away Wednesday June 22, 2016 at The Douglas T. Jacobson State V.A. Nursing Facility in Port Charlotte..
He was; Retired Property Evaluation Administrator for the Graves County PVA office for 26 years. , A member of the First Baptist Church in Mayfield KY, WWII Army Veteran, Member of the Mayfield Masonic Lodge #369, Past Grand Patron Order of the Eastern Star of Ky. 1964-1965, Member of The American Legion Post #26, and past President of The Mayfield Lions Club. Past Ambassador for Rizpah Shrine Temple, Kentucky Colonel and named Democrat of the Year for Graves County.
Mr. Cates is survived by; his wife Mary Ann Pryor Cates, two sons Greg (Charissa) Cates of Paducah and Steve (Shawna “Shay” Sulzer) Cates of Okeechobee FL, one daughter Susan Rachles of Venice FL, one brother George L. Cates of Cuba KY, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred L. Cates and Fannie Williams Cope, and one step sister Dorothy Lyles.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield KY. Dr. Wes Fowler and Rev. Melvin Doughty will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Chris Cates, Heath Cates, Jason Holmes, Zachary Shields, Mat Fletcher and Jonathon Fletcher will serve as pallbearers. Barry Kennemore, Fred Nesler, Carrol Hubbard, Chuck Whitnell, George Cook, George Lord, and Bro. Max Anderson will serve as honorary Pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Tuesday June 28, 2016 at the funeral home, Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00PM. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26 in Mayfield.
It is with sadness that I post this but Brenda Smith a long time member of Alford Chapter #445 has been called home . Sister Brenda has served as the secretary for Alford Chapter 445 for many years and will be greatly missed The arrangements are as follows Visitation will be Tuesday night May 31st from 500pm til 800pm and the funeral service will be Wednesday June 1st at 1100 am at J.H. Prayer request for Kim Jones and her family. Her husband, Roger Jones and their Son, Aaron Jones were in a car accident April 25th 2016. Roger has a broken arm and leg, he had to have surgery on his leg. He also has broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Aaron had a concussion and bad bruising. Please keep them in your Prayers.

Please remember my son, Brett, in your prayers. He had an anaphylactic reaction to his blood pressure medication last night. They had to do an emergency tracheotomy. He is on the ventilator & they are keeping him paralyzed and sedated.
