Many of you may already know, but JoEllen Perkins, AGM, is in the TriStar Skyline Hospital in Tennessee, north of Nashville on I-65. They thought she had a stroke but the doctor told Sammy today that they do not call it a stroke, since she has no stroke type side effects.
Saturday about 5 pm she got a very bad headache. Her vision was very blurred. When he got to home from the field about 6 pm she was having difficulty speaking. They took her to the hospital in Glasgow. The doctors consulted with a doctor at TriStar Skyline Hospital. She was still in the time frame for a clot buster medicine. They gave her the medicine the life-flighted her to Skyline. When Sammy got there about 2 hrs. later she was already speaking. She has no paralysis and her speech is much better.
Sammy called this morning with great news that she was recovering very well. Ernie & I went down this afternoon, but we could not get in to see her because it was between visiting hours.
He also said that they are watching for other symptoms and keeping a close watch on her because the medicine can cause brain bleeds. They will do more tests in the morning and depending on them she may get moved out of Neuro ICU to a room, or maybe, even home.
Their daughter, Sammy Jo, and her husband are staying with Sammy and trying to keep in fed, taking his meds, and resting.
They all said JoEllen is doing great.
Please keep JoEllen and her family on your prayer list.
